Morgenstern
You take your alien syringe gun, and a handgun. You prepare additional blood-filled syringes, and pass them out to everyone.

Fuse takes some of the leftover pizza to the Mars base.

You give the baby red a smooch, and make some witty action-film-esque line that prompts a laugh out of Michelle.

"C'mon," Caius says, shaking his head, "don't encourage her."

You consider making a meat golem--however, it might be better to wait until you think you need one. It'll help you practice pulling from the red under pressure, at least.

Once everyone's back and ready... you, Fuse, Michelle, and Caius head to the entrance of Bunker X.

"I feel like we might be too prepped for this," Caius comments.

"No such thing," Michelle replies.

Fuse takes a moment to psyche himself up. "Anything we wanna ask the ominous statue before we go through the spooky door?"

Sure, why are hotdogs sold in packs of 10 while hotdog buns are sold in packs of 8?
Xylas_Incarnum 6th May 2018, 1:35 PM edit delete reply
Ah, you got the reference.

Because even though life isn't perfect, you can always get a hotdog
Hotdog 6th May 2018, 8:54 AM edit delete reply
Because they want to make money
Quest 6th May 2018, 10:12 AM edit delete reply
You can maybe put one and one quarter or a hotdog in each bun so that you eat all at the same time.

We *definitely* need to hug the statue, since we couldn't hug the actual Tradesmen.
Blue_Elite 5th May 2018, 11:19 PM edit delete reply
If we can (there might me magic hoobably-boogally "protecting" the statue) agreed.
PurpleKetchup 6th May 2018, 4:47 AM edit delete reply
Make it so.

We should ask the statue if we can hug it first.

Statue hug!!!

So Tradesmen, I know you can't tell us /what's/ in there, but can you tell us if the strength of it scales with what we send in, or is static? Can you tell us betting odds on the fight? Can you tell us what the chance we could win is? Can you tell us if you're just a statue, or a mouthpiece to actual, living Tradesmen? ...Can you tell us if we can get fries with that?
Memo 6th May 2018, 12:40 AM edit delete reply
Memo
Good questions, except for the fries one.. you can always get fries with that
Duuuuuuuuude 6th May 2018, 3:16 AM edit delete reply
We should trade up several baskets of fancy curly fries.
Guest 6th May 2018, 8:29 AM edit delete reply
I hadn't even considered trading up food... you are a genius, and this must be done.
Reiko Lupus 5th May 2018, 10:35 PM edit delete reply
Let's hug the statue of the Tradesmen and ask them:
-Where is being kept Grizwald.
-What is the creature that they want to use in their trap to Kill us.
-How much handguns we need to trade to get a laserbeam gun.
-What we need to trate to get a device of invisibility.

This isn't that kind of tradesmen conversation, I don't think.

They're wondering if we have any questions about Bunker X.
Reiko Lupus 6th May 2018, 6:53 AM edit delete reply
I want to know if we CAN have that kind of conversation with this Tradesmen XD. In the end, this IS the Tradesmen.
Guest 6th May 2018, 8:30 AM edit delete reply
especially since it saves us from being tired out during the ritual... wonder if our cell phone calls the tradesmen, too, for that matter
Guest 6th May 2018, 10:03 AM edit delete reply
We can try trading a bunch cameleons for an invisibility device.

Looking forward to Bunker X!

To continue the unrelated brain discussion from the previous page (I was out all day after I originally commented), I'm thinking that building a backup brain inside Jane's arm like a gross Popeye muscle is our best bet for keeping the human part of Jane's psychic-self alive when witnessing the poor facsimile of a real brain currently in her skull. Jane is a nurse, and has synced plenty with Dr. Finch as he researched neurology - I worry (and I think Finch also worries) that Jane's knowledge of biology, brains and sentience in humans makes thoughts such as, say, "The Broca's area is responsible for processing language" incompatible with the knowledge that Jane's Broca's area is absent or incorrect.

Using a cleantex effect to recall the brain functions we observed during the Nil elimination, syncing with Finch, and just building a whole new (temporary) brain somewhere else in Jane's body (or externally, possibly) would allow us to have the best chance of actually cracking open the Schrodinger's Box that is our current brain without having to call out where exactly our humanity is stemming from - the Broca's area we are using is fine, it's just in our arm now.

Building a brain ourselves may be an easier solution than trying to obtain or use the Tradesmen to create a clone body for Jane, and will be less of a risk to our (and our friends') psychic-selves than outputting our consciousness onto them during the repair job.

Sorry for the novel, just getting some thoughts down that I would've discussed on the prior page!
Duuuuuuuuude 6th May 2018, 3:22 AM edit delete reply
I like this idea... but put the backup brain in the red. Then oversync with that brain first and put it on permanent load balancing with ourselves (like when we borrowed thought processing getting everyone else) before looking at our first brain. Of course, do this after first room.
Terrac 6th May 2018, 6:03 AM edit delete reply
We should get Dr.Finch's help when building our second brain, make sure it's done right. But for now, focus on Bunker X.
pkrankow 6th May 2018, 7:06 AM edit delete reply

We need that storage space in the red.

This idea is pretty good. Redundancy is nice in the mortal body of an immortal godlike being.
Guest 6th May 2018, 8:32 AM edit delete reply
I wonder if we can keep a running duplicate of our body/brain in the red, and just blood-portal it out if we get fragged.

Ask if there are any other game mechanics to this thing, like checkpoints or save states or the like?
1977 6th May 2018, 1:33 AM edit delete reply
They kinda answered that already. Once you enter a floor you must finish it. You can make only one or several floors but you must finish them. It's like an autosave at he beginning of the level and you're unable to make savegames within the level.
Archon 5th May 2018, 11:17 PM edit delete reply
Ask the statue why it resembles a door.
Don't suppose it opens up later?
FrissAtWork 6th May 2018, 11:22 AM edit delete reply
It reminds me of the door in Rogue Legacy, or even Dead Cells.
Blue_Elite 5th May 2018, 11:34 PM edit delete reply
Do we win when we exit a floor or will there be some sort of sign to indicate we've won?

(That's all I can think of right now. Will Edit if I think of more questions).

Crestlinger 6th May 2018, 12:50 AM edit delete reply
How many entities are for/against us on this floor?
Guest 6th May 2018, 10:10 AM edit delete reply
It might vary. The first level might have a moderate amount and gradually increase or it could vary on the prize. The better the prize the harder and more enemies needed to defeat. Or it could also be a kind of thing where you get points and how many points you have at the end determine your prize. Just speculation.

I initially had confusion about the recent slow update rates, until i realized Morgenstern's update times between Blood is Mine and Nast The Enchanter alternated.

i don't blame you for not knowing this, as it's not really stated anywhere, but morgenstern has said he would prefer to keep nast and bim fairly separate, as nast is quite nsfw and bim is not. while you're obviously free to talk about either comic in it's own channels, he has made it clear in other places that he'd like to keep them divided (mostly on discord, so it's no wonder you wouldn't know if you're not in the bim discord server c:). i'm sure he'd prefer not having it mentioned every other page here.

To reiterate, we only need to reach the exit of a floor in order to beat it, right? Is the exit marked somehow? Does everyone need to reach the exit to unseal the entrance, or just one person?
pkrankow 6th May 2018, 7:09 AM edit delete reply

We would not want to accidentally abandon someone in a hostile environment.

What I was thinking of was, if the entrance is unsealed under certain circumstances, part of the group could leave through the entrance. Someone could also get in through the entrance after someone reached the exit so they can help out.
Mochi 6th May 2018, 9:03 AM edit delete reply

we have to beat the floor to be able to leave, whatever that entails.
fellow 6th May 2018, 9:33 AM edit delete reply

The tradesman mentioned that "the entrance is sealed until the exit is reached". One might interpet that as the goal being to reach the exit, rather than killing/incapitating everything inside.
Briggs 6th May 2018, 7:56 AM edit delete reply
Are there people like us entering or people in general and do we have to kill them to win, or do we just need to incapacitate them or get them to surrender?
Guest 6th May 2018, 10:06 AM edit delete reply
Maybe a combination of robots and monsters as this is a magical bunker. They can also be monster from or nightmares or the bioprinter monsters.

FrissAtWork 6th May 2018, 11:54 AM edit delete reply

Another good question
Guest 6th May 2018, 1:57 PM edit delete reply
Can we trade the statue for a mini tradesman so we can shortcut the ritual and have a direct link to the tradesman without the ritual?
pkrankow 6th May 2018, 2:15 PM edit delete reply
pkrankow
Maybe we should ask if talking with the statue has that function. The rules might be different though.
