You start working on more bone armor. It takes a little more time to get it sized right for Michelle and Caius, and you tinker around with adding tendon for reinforcement and keratin for visors. It's a bit like staring through a fingernail, but you do make workable helmets.

It's rather late by the time you finish, and bring your focus entirely back to the lab.

"Well, I'll say this," Caius begins, "ain't nobody gonna look at this and think they need to be fuggen with us. We look like we play fightball for Satan."

Dr. Finch turns away from the ritual circle to address you. "I traded some of our extra bandages, and received bandages of stronger material. Not entirely surprising, that one. However, when I offered needles..."

Dr. Finch holds out a strange device--it almost looks like a gun, but the point protruding from its front seems to suggest it fires syringes. ...More alarmingly, there's a couple of cables leading from the weapon, with needles of their own at the ends. It seems like the gun is meant to... plug into... the wielder's veins, probably filling the needles automatically. You don't see a place to reload the gun, but it might just be your difficulty reading the thing--the gun's structure makes it seem like it is definitely not from Earth.

"I will leave it entirely up to you whether you should use this or not," Dr. Finch states as he sets it on the counter. "It makes me rather nervous, personally."

You feel quite drained, mentally--between the rituals of earlier, and all the work you've been doing in the red.

Let's test a bit the new gun! Only a bit. With how exhausted she is, losing too much Blood can't end well XD.

And what about making a gauntlet of bone with sharp and hard spikes in the knuckles? And a Helmet with horns to the Baby Jane XD.

And, without a doubt: Let's eat something!

We're probably good on making stuff for now, but yes, Bab Jane eventually needs a Warcraft-esque horned helmet. With a matching one for Bab Red.

yeah, do that after she rests for a while, she used up a lot of Blood

Am I correct to assume the trade ritual resulted in a Blood Needle Gun??
chaosblitz 20th Apr 2018, 9:40 PM edit delete reply
yes, and a badass one at that.
Baron11704 20th Apr 2018, 7:01 PM edit delete reply
Ooooo blood gun, lets test it perhaps, safely if possible
Archon 20th Apr 2018, 7:04 PM edit delete reply
Huh. Yeah, that's gonna be Blondie's weapon of choice.
Should save it for special occasions.
Need to save the ammo until we figure out how to reload the thing anyways.
Fishbulb 20th Apr 2018, 7:11 PM edit delete reply
Maybe the "ammo" is similar to tranquilizer darts?

I suggest making a pitcher of Kool-Aid (or this world's equivalent) for everyone to share and get their energy back up a little.
Frission 20th Apr 2018, 7:30 PM edit delete reply
Black cherry is the best flavor, of course. ;D Kool-Aid for everyone! Even a tiny cup for the Jolem. :3

Tuck in bab Jane right next to fuse to greet him in the morning :)

Crestlinger 20th Apr 2018, 7:10 PM edit delete reply
Test the new gun out to determine rate of fire, accuracy, and if any reloading time then eat something replenishing and help Elizabeth, and sleep, busy day tomorrow.
Blue_Elite 20th Apr 2018, 7:44 PM edit delete reply
I think that about wraps up combat preparations. Just give Caius a machete tomorrow (and possibly buy a riot shield) and we're good to go.

Time for bed. We should take B.B. with us; she can join our plushie collection (act as a guard dog/doll).
Madd 20th Apr 2018, 7:51 PM edit delete reply
Help Liz, then sleep.

Make a helmet as with pink cat ears on it, tomorrow.
Spades 20th Apr 2018, 8:19 PM edit delete reply
Test the ?blood gun out briefly but nothing too strenuous for the rest of the day, tomorrow's gonna by busy.
undeadDreamer 20th Apr 2018, 8:24 PM edit delete reply
Let the Caius and Michelle do the first floor of bunker X if they feel up to it.
Spades 20th Apr 2018, 8:45 PM edit delete reply
Michelle knows some stuff about body armor. What's her opinion on your design?
chaosblitz 20th Apr 2018, 9:42 PM edit delete reply
oooh, yeah that's a good idea.
also maaaybe we should have done that before creating 2 more...
Guest 20th Apr 2018, 10:27 PM edit delete reply

Somewhere in TF2, a medic's syringe gun has gone missing.
Guest 20th Apr 2018, 11:03 PM edit delete reply
Can the homonucleus use the gun? Usually I'd say no but maybe this one is special. Long shot but good to check
