Since you've already performed some crafting in the red today, you decide to try a little more. You start focusing on crafting incredibly dense bone and shaping it in particular ways. You have to take it out of the red in small pieces, since you don't want to accidentally portal a bone into your arm or anything... but one section at a time, you slowly assemble durable bone armor and put it on.

You return your attention to the lab. Fuse and Caius seem to have distracted themselves with the ritual circle--it takes a moment for them to notice that you're dressed like some kind of ancient warlord.

"Oh," Fuse comments. "I guess we're just... doubling down on freaking me out."

It's a little difficult to get the bone armor to cover a lot without it becoming too heavy or too inflexible, but for a first try you did a decent job of giving it "joints." You're also really familiar with the shape of your own body, though--it might take more time to make armor for other people.

"So, uh," Caius starts as scratches the back of his head, "we did tha ritual again while you were zoned out, and uhhh..."

Michelle sighs. "They traded up level."

Dr. Finch shakes his head. "I didn't even think we had level remaining."

Fuse grins. "We now have one cigarette worth... of tradesmen-grade super level."

"I'm gonna smoke tha whole thing," Caius says.

"I will fight you," Fuse replies. "We're obligated by bunker law to share it. Anyway, putting that aside--"

"For now," Caius adds,

"are we in any shape to do Bunker X?" Fuse glances around the room. "Most of us have done a ritual or two. It's exhausting, but it didn't exactly cripple us."

"Too soon," Michelle says, giving a nod to Fuse's leg.

Fuse sighs, pauses, and continues. "We have a minigun. We have handguns. Dr. Finch can trade up some bandages and needles, if we want... I don't know, better bandages and needles. We have new weird stuff I don't wanna talk about. Bunker X has to get harder as you go deeper, right? The first floor should be manageable."

You consider it. You, personally, are actually pretty tired--both from ritual use and from messing around in the red. The others don't seem nearly as worn out as you are, but it has been a busy day... and it'll be busy again tomorrow. The first floor of Bunker X isn't likely to be too challenging, but you also want to be in good shape for tackling the bioprinter hack.

Everyone seems to be leaving it to your discretion.

Oh fuck yeah, shit, ah fuck, shit yeah oh fuck yeah that bone armor looks SNAZZY

Alright, so no Bunker X tonight. We’ve got tomorrow full - If we overexert ourselves with the bunker right now, we could be dooming ourselves tomorrow, when we direly need that extra “oomph.”

If we're gonna do anything with Bunker X, I suggest leaving it until tomorrow. Do we have enough energy to fit other folks for bone armor today?

Bone is actually relatively light compared to other materials that are normally used for armor, so the big issue would probably be bulk, rather than weight, when scaling it up. The weight should be fairly negligible for Caius and Michelle, at least. We don't necessarily have to care much about protecting limbs, since we can replace those and we're also good at slowing bleeding; but being able to protect the organs would be nice. So we don't need to do *entire* suits of bone armor, just bone half-plate or something.

We should also consider the function of the bone armor very carefully. Bone can shatter when hit by bullets; can we reinforce it with a layer of tendon or something so our armor doesn't become shrapnel if it's hit? It would probably help a lot in melee fighting as it is, though. Basically, we just need to consider what kinds of threats we anticipate, and maybe consider an alternative option if we expect to face a lot of bullets. For bioprinted monstrosities, though, it should help a lot.

Also, if we ever do have Caius go back and do more cage fighting, we *totally* need to deck him out in bone armor if that's allowed, because that would be super-badass.

Finally, don't forget a helmet. The brain is the one organ that we really really REALLY don't want getting damaged. If we can't craft translucent chitin/keratin visors, then we might have to see about getting proper combat helmets, because I do NOT want to go through getting stabbed through the eye again. Let's not be Phineas Gage.

How is Elizabeth doing, pain-wise? Do we need to spend a bit of time working on her as well, or can she manage until we're done with the hacker thing? If we need a break, we could maybe do something relatively simple like converting more of her cells from shitty bioprinted cells to nice real ones.

I say Finch should go ahead and trade some medical supplies. We might also consider trading some electrical components in too, to help us with crafting EM-ghost-proof objects in the future. Even once we get Faraday condensed, we might want to create items that the ghost girls can interact with in specific ways.

...We never did examine that possible ghost signature in the Bunker A bathroom, did we? Ah well, we can handle that bit later...

Noice. Good to know we can make bone armor fairly easily, should make soldier homunculi that much easier to assemble.

If we decide to rest, Fuse and Caius can go over who gets to try the vaporwave cigarette. Mind, that person is probably going to be utterly useless for the next day.

As for Bunker X, well. We could ask the statue a few questions we've been wondering about. Like if the rooms are designed on entry, designed to account for individuals being present/not, that sort of thing.

Oh, and try upgrading a bunch of random junk at once. See what the tradesmen think of it.

Oh yeah, we could trade in some of those junk books in the bookcases arount the Z50 bunkers.

And I’d really like to see what happens if we put schematics for multiple other rituals in the circle!

It's time for a chitin and bone sword.

Reinforce the bone armor, play with it's density add leather and tendons to it.

Work on fixing more of Lis's body.

Start of our own Baby Red "Blood Sponge", a Red ball that eats Thales blood for a backup plan to slow the tunnels down.

Trade up some bone armor pieces we make.

Make sure we get a full set for everyone and that our helmet has pink cat ears on it (made out of bone still.)

And make Fuse a cool cover for his leg non-metal, out of bone.

Also try trading up a bunch of bone swords.

Our cute protagonist dressed as a warlord... Damn, I want to see a Fanart of that XD.

Well, for now:

I'd say to make bone armors for everyone who's going to Fight in Bunker X. About when to Fight... The next day, Early. Humans and Half-Humans need rest before going to Fight cosmic horrors XD.

And for weapons... Michelle got a cute mini-gun, but she isn't the only one who needs to improve a bit her arsenal. Lets put Scalpels, some Syringes, and Bloodied-Bandages in the Ritual Circle to see what we get XD. And Maybe some Scalpels with a Glove to see if we get something for Caius XD.

I don't think going into the gauntlet without Blondie is a very hot idea; not to mention, there's no indication of how long it will take. The tradesmen very explicitly stated that our "enemies" involved in the creation of the bunker hope our overconfidence will get us killed, so let's not vindicate them.

If everyone else is still itching to do something before tomorrow, maybe a shopping trip for more stuff to upgrade? We could always use more guns.

Or Fuse could check out the error room.

I was all for trying Bunker X before all the magic and rituals tuckered us out. Now I definitely think we should put it off. The main thing about the whole deal seems to be if we underestimate how difficult it'll be, hubris will be used against us.
Besides, we're currently wound-free and want to be that way when we begin the hacker assault tomorrow. Let's get rested up proper for tomorrow.

Though if possible, I'd like to make some bone armor for Michelle and Caius before we end the day. Maybe just limit it to protecting the upper-torso to minimize strain/time in making it.

EDIT: And a quick note about B.B. (Baby Blondie) - we could make another basic meat golem and have her accompany it like Ico. The basic golem would scope out the unknown and B.B. would handle, "puzzle-solving tasks," like opening doors and manipulating objects and such.
