You mention to Fuse what you found out about the error room. You were told that normal people can't perceive what's inside... but Fuse, being able to remember things that no longer occurred, might be different. You ask if he wants to try it--no rush, though. You don't want him to do it unless he's totally fine with it.

"Maybe... not tonight," Fuse says. "Don't get me wrong, I'm curious. With us just getting the book, and me... just... y'know, all that. I guess I wanna put some space between all this, and me maybe finding out one of the ways I could've bit it. I might give it a shot tomorrow."

You also take a closer look at the instructions the other you wrote to see what you need for the ritual. Petitioning the tradesmen for information requires light blue candles, and some way to draw the symbols in light blue. ...It's a surprisingly undemanding ritual, compared to some of the others you saw.

Drawing the symbols in light blue should be easy enough-- just get some sidewalk chalk. Light blue candles are also easy; we can probably just get some at a future-Wal-Mart or something, although they'll probably smell like pretty flowers :P

Alternatively, we could look for a little occult/mystic shop in Southden and get our stuff there.

I know a lot of commenters weren't in favor of doing rituals at all, but I think doing this particular one is probably okay; it'll help us start to gather more information, which we really need.

I think it was less the "rituals" part and more the "these could kill us" part, this one seems relatively harmless and we know the cost of anything's before we have to actually pay it, so I say go for it.

Lets collect our thoughts and list some questions we might want to ask the tradesmen!

What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow ?

- What Thale is building below the city?

- Are we are free of Nil's influence?

- How can we restore Faraday from 'being expanded'?

- What do we avoid to avoid going deep and thin?

- What is the windspeed of a Coconut laden swallow? PurpleKetchup beat me to it.

- Where are the droids we're looking for?

- Is father alive and okay somewhere?

- What are the side-effects of using magic?

- What's the best place to get a bite to eat in this county?

- What forces are currently in play that we should be aware of?

- Is there a way to expand Fuse's powers?

- Knowing we're at risk at stepping into mutli-dimensional timey-wimey stuff, is there a convenient way to set signposts in multi-dimensional space?

- Is there a way to set signposts in the red?

- How are you feeling? Would you like a hug?

Is there a way to identify signposts set by other iterations of ourselves

To add to this list:

"What is behind Bunker C's door?"

Hmm, okay. I guess all we have to do now is talk about what's to be discussed with the Tradesmen? So let's talk with the rest of the group about what they wanna find out, then head back out to Southden and pick up some light blue chalk and candles. A lot of them though, enough for multiple rituals. So maybe go to some kind of craft store or something to see if we can't buy in bulk.

When we finally get to doing the ritual, I would like to ask them for some examples of free questions.

Candles and chalk shouldn't be that hard to find on a shop.

I suppose they keep the red candles for the really naughty rituals - even if the "ask-a-tradesmen spell" was obtained through unorthodox means.

Though, maybe tapping into some non-euclidean eldritch knowledge can cause spontaneous brain explosion - better to be on the lookout for that, too.

I use some version of this every time I have to buy a backpack. Confuses the salespeople, pisses off my wife...who also uses some version of this every time she buys a bag...
