You and Michelle step out into the hall so Faraday and Tesla can have a moment.

"Man," Michelle begins, "I wish we could do more for these girls. I know jumpin' straight into magic is reckless, but... it sucks seein' 'em like this. ...I guess that's kinda our whole situation right now, though. We know where Thale's prob'ly at, but we can't just bust into his building guns blazin'. I want to, but there's no way that place ain't a death trap. We been sittin' on an address for Carpenter for ages, but it's prob'ly fake. Hope and his doofuses are operatin' in public unchecked, but we can't just go attack a minor celebrity without it bitin' us in the ass. Why does bein' the good guys gotta be so complicated?"

Tesla wanders back out into the hall.

You ask Tesla if she might want to stay out here, now that she can talk to Faraday. You could help her move her stuff to the room where Faraday's screen is.

"Oh, um..." Tesla nods. "Yes, please."

It takes a little work--putting Tesla back into her room so she can grab her things, put them in the canister, and then remove them from the containment chamber--but eventually, you and Michelle get done helping her move into the archive room. Michelle also helps set up Tesla's tent.

Tesla's still a little nervous, but by the end, she seems far more comfortable dealing with people, and satisfied with being able to talk to Faraday again. "Thank you," Faraday says. "Th-thank you!," Tesla repeats.

Michelle smiles softly. "We'll be back later," she says. "We ain't done yet... we're gonna figure out how to get you back to normal, Faraday."

You and Michelle start heading back to Bunker A. Michelle gives a small sigh, but keeps smiling. "I guess we gotta take these wins where we can get 'em, huh?"

We ahould be able to, right? Faraday seems physicial enough.

Two heads are better than one, and Pierce can translate runes while Finch transcribes them.

Do you mean Tesla? I'd wait - I don't think she's comfortable enough with people yet. I don't want to freak her out or anything.

Seconding showing Pierce the book. Also ask him if he knows anything about the summoning ritual that the church was using to summon Red - could be useful info to have.

That actually brings up a funny thought: could we summon Thale, and force the showdown when/where we want? Or does it only work on things not in this reality?

Speaking of which, we already had an active plan to cleantex Pierce into transcribing the many magical notes he worked with at the Church of Enyo.

Touching edison paralyzes you. Tesla's made of the same stuff. Faraday is not solid.

As for the book, I don't think we should give magical knowledge to anyone who isn't on the team, so to speak.

Then we should at least talk to Pierce about bringing him into the research, or have Fuse and Finch have words with him for us, to see if he really is trustworthy.

We could just have Finch bring questions to Pierce sans-book, like bringing homework to the physics tutor!

I think Carpenter should be our next target. If we can blood his hackers, we could have them disable the bioprinters that Thayle is distributing. Maybe there's a spell in the book that could let us find him, or perhaps Howler cause Fuse knows him.

I think we should try to learn The Thing We Should Not Know first before dealing with that mess. Also maybe get some more everyday life over with before jumping into the next arc. We do need to rush a little, but this shit has been building up for years, it can wait a little longer while we prepare.

Yeah okay, I might've been jumping the gun a little cause the big to-do's were brought up. And the thing we shouldn't know is definitely something we should get to know soon.

Random thought... Faraday's problem is she's too big and too much energy. If the two problems are related, we should be able to help her simply by siphoning off that energy (of course leaving the multi-century batteries alone, because why waste them?)

Option 1 is dump it into a power grid, that'd take a long time but be a controlled situation (maybe start a temporary power company and reap profits to help pay for projects?). This has the advantage of being a slow and controlled process to avoid mistakes.

Option 2 is just build a large Tesla coil outside, and let her just dump her energy through it, creating a series of artificial lightning strikes. This has the advantage of getting it done fast.

Option 3 is heat is one of the most expensive uses of electricity that can be controlled. We set up large copper coils on the martian surface and see how much we can warm that frigid planet by smelting the ground by just grounding some hefty copper cables from Faraday to the martian surface. This has the advantage of both options, and if the energy-dump is ridiculous enough (doubt it, but we're dealing with powers beyond our full understanding so could), it upgrades frozen airless wasteland deadly wasteland to a much gentler toxic air wasteland without risking our own planet. Risk is if it does anything problematic with Mars and the other.

We can't bleed Faraday down without damaging her, that was pointed out early on, that the longer she is being drained, the more she breaks down into nothing, and that we are lucky that 100 years of powering the bunker system hasn't had a noticabke impact beyond the initial damage done by fulling up the century batteries the first time.

They also thought they had effectively destroyed her, but according to her, she just got "big" now that we can communicate with her. The researchers obviously made some incorrect assumptions. In fact, she could have still been growing while they were "bleeding her down".

We should just ask her what happened from her perspective, honestly. Although on the flip side, I would suggest not doing anything with her until her sisters and her are clued in about what we're doing, the hopes and risks of it too.
