For now, you decide to work on the screen in Bunker E. You give Geoangular Control to Dr. Finch, and ask him to start looking into it--specifically focusing on the pages around some of the more useful spells, if he can. You want them to be available as soon as possible, but you also want to be fairly safe about it.

You also give Elizabeth the new clothes you bought her, and the journal.

"This isn't necessary," Elizabeth says.

"Most o' what we do ain't," Michelle comments with a slight smile.

"...That is a valid point," Elizabeth replies. She takes the items.

You head to Bunker E. You sync Fuse and Dr. Finch, and begin repairing the screen. It takes a while, but... eventually, you get it to come on without being overloaded.

"'Ello? Is someone there?," comes a small voice from the static. There's a slight echo, the voice repeating faintly several times.

You confirm that you can hear her.

"Oh, good! Finally!," she says. You realize that it's not just an echo--the faint repeats of the voice are actually saying the same words in different tones, and with different fluctuations. It's more like the same person is saying the same thing multiple times. "I don't know where I am. Well, I do know, but I'm a bit of everywhere? I keep trying to come back but I don't... fit any longer. I'm quite afraid I've grown too big."

tell Faraday not to worry, we're going to help her, ask her if there are any messages she'd like us to pass on to Tesla for her
Twyll 9th Apr 2018, 1:33 AM edit delete reply
If we gave her something to concentrate some of her energy on, does she think she could maybe come back that way? Or could we maybe try to drain some of the energy away? (We DO have access to a literally infinite dimension, so I guess we could just take a bunch of excess energy from her and shove it into the Red via a very very large neuron XD)

Also, are there any immediate concerns we can address for her now that she's able to talk to us, aside from being able to manifest properly again?

If she doesnt fit... could she try to be bigger? or make 2 bodies?
skybirds15 9th Apr 2018, 2:40 AM edit delete reply
Well... we're working on it. She could try to just form a part of herself, say, a mouth, on a wall and work from there. It would probably be easier than the whole body.

Also, she probably knows Tesla's here, and we should probably try to hook up something here so they can talk. Also should probably ask if Edison can be safely contained in the cell, cause... Edisons's a crazy murderer and all, but it probably would be better for Edison at least to reunite the sisters.

...you know, nobody's commented on the flowers this time. Not even Elizabeth (maybe).

Aside, does Eliz's brain have the full emotional range? That sounds like something Thale would axe for more suffering. Also other organs like gallbladder and kidney and pituitary gland. It's amazing how many bits you can cut off without much adverse effect.

The ghosts need better than cut flowers. Potted maybe? It would be an excuse for one of our team to visit nearly daily to water plants.

Yes check on Liz's brain structure and glands. Just finish here first.

This comment reminds me of Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen. Faraday may need more practice now that she's spread out so far and working on a bit at a time might be a good stepping stone.

Grown too big? Hmm... How much control do you have over your "body" right now, if any? Can you move parts of it around? Or is there not even enough consistency to have "parts"?

EDIT: Oh gosh, um. Faraday, do you by chance know why there's a "no electronics allowed" sign? You're speaking to us through this screen - if we brought in, say, a small TV or something, would you be able to speak through it?

Too big might allow her to condense more solid and real than she was before. We should practice focus type meditation with Faraday and see what happens. Low risk, high potential gains.

Feel your body in your mind sitting in front of the candle... feel your energies and centers, arms, hands, the flow between and so forth. Your weight on the cushion...

Maybe a mirror and focus on her face?

Reassure Faraday and let her know we'll help her for as long as is necessary and beyond. We've met Tesla and Edison and they're both in good health.

The group should talk about options and see what everyone is comfortable with.
Faraday's name suggests a solution. We could try to line the bunker with a Faraday cage and make it smaller and smaller without making any openings and try to force her essence into a single smaller area
My other idea was to turn off all the electronic devices in the bunker, but with the warning signs about leaving your devices by the door, I feel like Z50 might have already kept the bunker at a minimum for electronic things.
I'm wondering if Edison would be receptive to working with Faraday. To help her condense herself back down to size
I know she's dangerous, but could be the start of her rehabilitation.
As a side note, we should check on Edison's container and setup the blood alarm again on the warehouse.

We should ask where Faraday is. Does she envelop the bunker? Is she just outside of it? We might be able to pass through walls and visit her using the astral projection spell.

When you say grown do you mean you can still grow bigger ? and if yes can you control your growth rate to not get beyond saving ?

So the library said"take the thing you should not have to the place you shoud not be"... I think he wants us to take the book to the door to hell behind the bunker door

Make sure Faraday understands her situation (the whole essentially exploding with energy thing). Then ask if rather than trying to fit her whole self inside, see if she can just fit a part of herself instead; much like how a whole person can't fit inside a dollhouse but their hand can easily.

Also see if we can rig up a tin can telephone communication between the monitor and Tesla's containment area. It'd be a non-electronic means of communication and allow Tesla to keep to her comfort zone.
Just have to be careful not to knock it over between visits.

Speaking tubes perform better. A coil of fairly large diameter plastic water line, say 1 inch, and some large funnels. Not very expensive at all,

If we end up making a shopping trip for this, we should also get a big ass ball of yarn/string (literally ass-sized or bigger) and an actual sewing kit for Edison. Between Tesla, being able to talk to Faraday, and having access to her preferred hobby, I think she'll behave and we can let her out.

There will be so many feels what-is-this-I-don't-even-know.

Personally I think we should leave Edison where she is right now.
With her being aan unstable murderous ghost. I believe she could become an unwelcome distraction.

Next time we're visiting Tesla, ask her what it's like being in containment, if she's even aware of it.
