You briefly sync with Michelle, Caius, and Dr. Finch. You pull their original, unaltered memories to fill in the spaces you lost cutting out Nil, including when you first met Fuse (via Michelle).

You explain the process to Fuse--that you're going to cleantex him, and that he needs to sort through all of his memories to find one that stands out as feeling exceptionally awful. He agrees, and you cleantex him.

It takes him a little while to sort through all of his memories, but eventually, he speaks up.

"When we met. Like, the first time... there's a weird feeling of dread I can't explain. That seems to be the only weird one."

You tell him to concentrate on that memory so you can see which neurons are becoming active. It's a little more difficult to isolate in someone else's head than your own, but you carefully cut the process out. You then sync with Fuse, just long enough to give him the corrected memory you got from Michelle.

"That's it?," he asks.

"It was... a much more involving process when we were still figuring it out," Dr. Finch states. "I imagine she's gotten rather practiced at it."

As far as you can tell, that should be the extent of the influence from Nil to you or Fuse. Nil probably didn't have much reason to plant its hooks in Fuse's mind, at least not compared to yours--it needed you to help it control Macland. Fuse was just collateral damage. Getting it out of Macland Row is going to be far more difficult, you think, as Nil has had more time and a stronger basis to take hold.

You don't want to press the issue, but you take a closer look at Dr. Finch. He looks very tired, but otherwise fine. He's currently very invested in trying to research what the tunnels could be for--he seems to be worried about it.

Chat up Big Red - Is there anything we can do to accommodate them? Anything they want, need, or just have on their mind?

Also, what's in those books?

Ask Grizwald about it and then sleep.

That's the thing about tunnels: they can be Flooded with things, gases, etc. Find the bottlenecks though and with some thick steel they could be blooded shut.

If we explore the tunnels, we very definitely need emergency exit(s). I’m not so sure how we could make one, maybe blood a door? That would take a lot though... How about sending in a rat first, to get a small layout of the place, and gradually make a map?

Mmm. We did so much syncing, man. I really hope we don't have to keep syncing if we can help it.

When Michelle and Caius get back, let's do a little group pow-wow and discuss our next course of action.

The PJs are still working on Jury, and hopefully with Lydia and Grizwald's podcast out and about, the Lower Tiers won't be so hasty in accepting the presence of Southern Pass. Whatever Fuse pulled from Howler's drive that might be useful for Lydia, by the way, he should probably put on her server and let her know. We can't do much else with what we got until Jury's back together, so we can put that on hold for now.

Meanwhile, we have some tunnels to explore the purpose of - if Dr. Finch wants to map it out so we can figure more of it out, then we can perhaps start looking into how to do that most expediently, whether it's with animal friends or bio-cameras or whatever.

We also still need to visit the blood plant room on Mars to fix the wiring. That requires Fuse, Michelle/Caius with a machete and our bio-camera.

And we also have a mushroom guy to visit for more information on a vital component of StQ in the Lower Tiers - an abandoned power station, if I'm remembering correctly.

I'd like to tackle the wiring thing first just to get it done and over with before we do anything else; just my two cents.
